ABSTRACT

One way to look upon the preceding chapters is as a playbook, a collection of strategies, for the teaching of poetry. The question for the classroom teacher is how to best use it. As a teacher you want your students to be able to master the strategies. How well the students learn them depends upon how well “the moves” are taught. The teacher is a facilitator who affords the students an opportunity to attempt, practice, and familiarize themselves with the art of poetry.
