ABSTRACT

The world has changed. The world is changing. The world will continue to change. Today the urban population is growing and globalization is leading to both a gradual merging of national experiences and a widening of the gap between the rich and the poor. Today people live longer, eat more, have more fun, get married later in life, listen to more music, spend more time on their cell phones, and worry about AIDS. Consider the following snapshots of today’s world (Walch, 1999).
