ABSTRACT
Health care professionals who treat individuals with a substance abuse disorder and a disability face a compounded challenge. Not only must they address the general issues of a substance abuse disorder, but also they must address issues that are unique to those with disabilities. This chapter highlights such issues, and examines the implications for treatment created by the interaction of given disabilities and the abuse of addictive substances.
