ABSTRACT

The stereotype I have about concluding chapters is that they are supposed to provide a tidy wrap-up and a rosy outlook for the future. I can think of many books that have closing chapters with titles like “The Five Steps to Better Communication,” or “Ten Things You Can Do to Make a Difference in Your Community,” or “Three Sure-Fire Ways to Cut Your Total Tax Bill.” I wish that cheating were that kind of thing. It would be far easier to write a conclusion that provided a list (if one existed) of quick-fix “solutions” to the problem of cheating. The reader looking for such a list should stop reading at this point and avoid disappointment.
