ABSTRACT
One day, the Hmong and their neighbors had a dispute over ownership of land. The King ordered both parties to depart at nightfall and to return before sunrise. He decreed that each would be the owner of the land they had traveled over during the night. The party that did not return on time would have to remain at the place where the rising sun caught them traveling.
