ABSTRACT
Ii Geometric analogies or allusions are commonly used in everyday conversations. Figuratively Speaking can prompt children to consider the connection between these language tools and mathematics. After giving a class several examples, a teacher can encourage students to come up with their own examples or to look for examples in their reading. Students can then draw, paint, or construct a picture illustrating their examples (e.g., use the Color It program).
