ABSTRACT

Matrix analysis is a task analysis method that can be used to identify and depict relationships between and among concepts. The result of a matrix analysis is the identification of all the possible paired relationships among the concepts to be taught. These relationships can be the basis for sequencing the instruction and for developing instructional materials to teach the concepts. The focus in matrix analysis is on the concepts that form the basis of the instruction. Other task analysis methods examine the concepts to be taught. However matrix analysis differs in that it examines every possible relationship between paired concepts.
