ABSTRACT

Explaining what a television news producer does can be difficult because most of what a producer does is hidden from public view. All we see when we watch news on TV are the anchors, reporters, weather presenters, and sportscasters. The measure of a well-produced program is that how it gets on the air should not be seen or heard by the audience. A wellproduced news program should be “seamless,” meaning that nothing distracts or detracts from the information being presented.
