ABSTRACT
Today’s television news producer is the chief executive officer (CEO) of the newscast that succeeds or falters depending on how well the producer does her or his job. The producer works at a computer terminal, inputting plans and directions. These entries represent instructions the team will follow to produce the news program. Some of the instructions the producer enters will trigger automation programs that will carry out instructions without human intervention.
