University of Minnesota Medical School The purpose of this chapter is to summarize how the application of assessment measures for obsessivecompulsive disorder (OCD) has affected treatment, especially drug treatment, and outcomes and to provide suggestions for the future development of improved assessment scales. An assessment of comorbid symptoms such as anxiety and depression and their significance in the management of treatment-refractory OCD cases is also discussed.
