ABSTRACT

A second major issue in developmental psychology can be derived from the nature-nurture issue. Granted that there are laws governing development and that these laws lie within the province of nature and nurture, how do they function across the life span of a species? Do the laws involved in determining development remain the same or do they change in their functioning across ontogeny? In turn, do the psychological functions of the person and/or the variables involved in his or her behavior stay the same or change across life?
