ABSTRACT

After considerable mulling over of this response, we concluded that it was based on two possible assumptions. The first was that the play of young children is of little developmental importance. The second was that, even if play has some role in development, it does not differ for deaf and hearing children: It is necessary only to refer to existing literature about hearing children's play to know about deaf children's development. We disagree to some extent with both assumptions. At long last, here is our reply to the administrator's comments.
