ABSTRACT
Sandy is a compact 6-year-old who was late in talking and considered unintelligible by all but a few family members until about age 5. She is still often mistaken for a younger child because of her size, limited vocabulary, and frequent errors in grammar. Having recently transferred to a new school, Sandy is having trouble adjusting and has become very quiet except for occasional interactions with friends from her previous school.
