ABSTRACT

Paul was the school’s literature enrichment specialist-also known as the “books on wheels” guy-who went into Kindergarten to fouth-grade classrooms to share stories with children. A month and a half into the year of his inquiry, he became a teacher of a contained sixth-grade classroom when a faculty downsizing occurred at the school. He had successfully used drama with Kindergarten to fourth-grade children and with children in an afterschool program, so he was eager to try out more long-term drama projects in this new teaching context.
