ABSTRACT

Extraversion is clearly one of the core concepts of trait psychology. Some form of the Extraversion dimension can be found in all widely used multidimensional personality scales. Further, the concepts of extraversion can usually be recovered in one form or another from temperament scales and inventories not specifically designed to measure personality directly, such as those designed to measure behavioral dysfunction. An examination of the literature over the past 75 years reveals that Extraversion is central to the complete description of adult personality.
