ABSTRACT

In its broad sense, psychodiagnostic has always meant clinical anaylsis of the dynamics and meanings found in a particular instance of psychopathology. Diagnostics is sometimes also understood more narrowly as a selection of the closest-fitting nosological label. The reports in this chapter are all of the first sort and sometimes of the second sort also. The writing of these reports required a knowledge of psychopathology and of diagnostic systems. Even if the reader has not yet received such training, however, it will be apparent that an individualized assessment framework is applicable in clinical as well as counseling assessments.
