ABSTRACT

Once infants have developed the brain architecture to enable memory, they can begin forming internal representations of elements of the external world and of experiences with these elements. The information captured in this form can now begin to functionally substitute for new information from the external world. By this I mean … in imagery is captured information with functional value for guiding acts to completion. Now such objects, which are represented in an enduring world of consciousness, can modulate energy dissipation without being physically present.
