ABSTRACT
In this chapter I report what the headteachers of the programme schools had to say about school improvement. A series of interviews were conducted with the heads during the life of the project in order to capture and record their observations about the processes and outcomes of improvement in primary and junior schools. From their individual accounts common issues and themes were identified, which will be discussed in this chapter.
