ABSTRACT

You may have heard about key skills. In essence, they are the generic skills that cross subject boundaries and are useful for life. They cover the following areas:

application of number (numeracy skills);

effective communication (communication skills);

use of computers, etc. (information technology skills);

improving one’s own learning performance (study skills);

effective interaction with others (skills for working with others); and,

meeting needs and solving problems (problem solving skills).
