ABSTRACT

Many fundamental ideas are part and parcel of our day-to-day thinking, to such an extent that they are taken for granted. Such assumptions may be necessary for us to function in everyday conversation. But in philosophy, everydayness is examined. We tend to juxtapose concepts such as mind and body, feeling and thinking, emotion and reason, subjective and objective, self and outside self. And this juxtaposition has structured our experience, our understanding and our knowledge.
