ABSTRACT

This book brings together the work of researchers from many different countries, all of whom are committed to enhancing the lives and work of teachers and the changing contexts in which they work through association with the Professional Actions and Cultures of Teaching (PACT). Organized in April 1992, PACT is a project which aims at bringing together international scholars in the fields of teaching, teachers’ work and teacher professionalism to exchange and develop new research in a community of common interest and shared experience. The contributions in this book were presented originally as part of an international Nordic research conference.
