ABSTRACT
In this chapter we are going to explore the gendered nature of ‘care work’ within higher education. As Cotterill and Waterhouse in this volume note, ‘care’ is a gendered concept. Both in the wider community and in the communities of higher education (whether provided by women or men), ‘care’ is feminized and undervalued.
