ABSTRACT

This book focuses on the intersection of two incredibly challenging topics: relationships and development. By itself each topic is daunting, and any integration of the two topics becomes an almost impossible challenge. That said, the two topics need to be integrated. To discuss relationships without discussing change is not to understand relationships and to discuss change without understanding how change is embedded in relationships is not to understand change. Thus, if we are to understand each topic, we need to understand the other, and we are forced to face the challenge of a combined understanding of both change and relationships. Moreover, in recent years considerable progress has been made in both of these areas, and they have begun to communicate to one another. This book continues that dialogue.
