ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an overview of Harry Harlow's legacy derived from personal acquaintance with Harlow and his work, as well as from his research papers, extensive correspondence files, and unpublished writings. It is important to look at Harlow's contributions from a long-range perspective. They continued for more than 40 years at the University of Wisconsin and did not end when he resigned from there in 1974 or when he died in Tucson, Arizona, on December 6, 1981.
