ABSTRACT

The goal of this book is to explicate some aspects of measurement that are routinely neglected in measurement and testing textbooks. We believed that insufficient coverage of several topics has led to training test professionals who are unfamiliar with some important principles behind many current tests. To organize this volume, we constructed an ideal list of topics and authors. Apparently, our concerns about the coverage of measurement topics were shared by many psychometricians. Not only were the intended authors willing and able to cover the suggested topics, but, in fact, they seemed enthusiastic about the project.
