ABSTRACT
Having outlined a range of ways in which watching videos and television could be seen to play an important role in a young child’s reading development, we move on to look at the development of writing through the ‘bridging activity’ of storytelling. In the case of Rehana, storytelling in a wide range of forms, seemed to be an activity that provided an important connection between reading and writing.
