ABSTRACT

This book is based on a particular notion of reflective practice that the authors feel is appropriate for a creative professional teacher. This model sees teaching as a moral activity, that is based on the development of three basic qualities: open-mindedness, responsibility and wholeheartedness. These ideas were introduced by Dewey (1916) and have been developed by writers and philosophers such as Zeichner (1982) in the USA and Ashcroft and Foreman-Peck (1994 and 1996) in Britain.
