Learning to Teach: A Story of Five Crises

I seem to have had five big crises as I learned to teach. After each crisis, my views and attitudes concerning teaching underwent a major overhaul. The first crisis came after the first week of orientation in August. The second occurred after the first four months of teaching (September to December), while the third occurred after those initial weeks (January) spent here at Queen’s. After three more weeks of teaching (February), I had another big switch of attitudes. Finally, during my last few weeks of classes at Queen’s (March and April), I didn’t experience any crises at all, and that may be a crisis as well!
