ABSTRACT
In this chapter, Derek Featherstone provides the introduction and connecting narrative for a series of themes related to new teachers finding common ground in their teaching experiences as part of building a community of teacher-learners. While many of the voices heard in this chapter relate to classroom management and ownership, the themes also include the unpredictability of teaching and the issue of loneliness in a practice teaching assignment.
