ABSTRACT
A variety of methodological approaches were used in the mainstream school, first to identify the most deviant out of 131 fourth year pupils1, and later for the closer study of the pupils identified. They included questionnaires, observation and interviewing of pupils and teachers. Before describing these methods it is necessary to describe the school where the study was carried out.
