A crucial aspect of the management and coordination role of a SENCO is your involvement with a range of other professionals and external support services and agencies. No other subject leader in a primary school will be expected to
have a working knowledge of
work cooperatively with
manage and coordinate
initiate and establish relationships with
advise parents about
so many different professionals and agencies, including voluntary organisations. A school's SEN policy should make explicit the way in which the school relates to such services and, in the case of relevant health and education services, should specify the nature of support available at particular Stages of SEN Assessment and Provision.
