ABSTRACT
In most nurseries and infant classrooms, and in some junior classrooms, it is common to see tables, or an area of the room, set up with a variety of materials or apparatus. These areas are designed to offer children opportunities to learn through exploring, manipulating, experimenting, i.e. independent research and practise.
