ABSTRACT

If you can develop a policy through involving colleagues as much as possible you may a chieve more active use of it in practice. Clearly, this is going to depend on the ethos of your school. If all other policies have been devised by subject coordinators and presented to staff you may only be able to take these ideas so far and forcing the issue could leave you with even less support. This is where it may be useful talking to the

headteacher before you do any work on policy development. It may even be that they are looking for a way of getting such activities going in the school.
