ABSTRACT

This chapter may the most important in the book. It is possible to have many resources available in school, policies in place-and yet have unsatisfactory design and technology education. This is because there are so many other variables which affect the achievement of the children in design and technology. The teaching may be the most significant of these variables. The quality of the teaching will be affected by the quality of curriculum planning, assessment, monitoring and advice that is available for teachers, as well as the teacher’s own expertise.
