ABSTRACT
The National Curriculum Order includes science as a body of knowledge. Teachers must help children acquire this knowledge at an appropriate level and with understanding. It is not possible to describe the science which underpins Sc2: Life and Living Processes, Sc3: Materials and their Properties and Sc4: Physical Processes in the space available, nor is it the purpose of this book. If this kind information is needed, coordinators could refer to one of the wide range of textbooks available, or to books like A Question of Science (Newton and Newton, 1995).
