ABSTRACT
Over a decade ago, the then Chairman of the Association for Science Education wrote in the editorial introduction to the first issue of the Primary Science Review:
John Nellist was, of course, referring to the development of science teaching in primary schools. Accompanying this development has been the evolution of teachers with responsibility for bringing about such change-the science coordinators.
