ABSTRACT

A school’s long-term planning could involve three termly sheets for each class which contains a single age-group. The whole school could work on a fortnightly topic cycle. Each fortnight could consist of a number topic and another drawn from one of the other Programmes of Study. The teaching fortnight could be arranged as 10 hourly lessons: 6 of number, 2 of topic work and 2 using investigations to support using and applying. The resulting sheets would look like those below in Figure 13.1.
