ABSTRACT
The purpose here is to suggest practical ways to approach the planning, teaching, resourcing and assessing of National Curriculum History at Key Stages 1 and 2. The emphasis will be on thinking about, questioning and reflecting on the nature of the subject, with enquiry tasks included for consideration. The way cross-curricular themes can be developed will also be explored and there will be a brief section on history outside the National Curriculum.
