ABSTRACT
Monitoring Understanding Students have well-developed ideas about success and learning. They have been shaped throughout their years of schooling and they inevitably influence their expectations of teaching and their approach to learning. This chapter attempts to explore how students define understanding and how this might be linked to their view of success at school.
