ABSTRACT

The human resource perspective delineated in this book is built around the view that organizations are populated by individuals who have needs, feelings and prejudices. The particular emphasis of this book is one of professional needs, feelings and prejudices, combining what Sergiovanni (1984:6) would term human and educational perspectives. Human factors including consideration of relationships among people in the school, morale and empowerment, instructional leadership, developing and evaluating curriculum, and professional development. All these take into account the urgency for collaboration, rather than isolation in leadership, as discussed in Chapter 2.
