ABSTRACT

A principal reason for the job analysis conducted in the research was to elicit information on headteachers for the purposes of identifying management competencies. The data produced by the Work Profiling System and the Occupational Personality Questionnaires were presented in Chapter 3. The competencies generated provide the basis of assessment criteria informing headteacher management development, recruitment and selection, appraisal and training, as well as head’s personal and career development.
