ABSTRACT
In under seven and a half months in 1988 a task force set up by the Government to review educational administration delivered its findings. The Report of the Task Force Administering For Excellence: Effective Administration in Education (1988), and known popularly as the Picot Report after its chairperson Brian Picot, established the policy parameters for the restructuring of education in New Zealand.
