ABSTRACT

The diffidence in sharing the second study was matched by an equally strong confidence in the value of the third. This was Vicki’s major research enterprise.

Its evolution in term 4 of the course has already been glimpsed in the early part of the story. We saw how the topic arose from a strong autobiographical agenda, one which had transformed itself into a strong educational, professional agenda. We saw the work developing in the cut and thrust of collaborative group work and being moulded into a formal group presentation. In all of this, we saw it impacting on the consciousness of the teachers on the course, as well as myself as tutor. So let us now consider where, how, and in what form, it impinged on the life of the school and on the consciousness of Vicki’s colleagues.
