ABSTRACT
It is clear that we wouldn’t have written this book and you wouldn’t be reading it if we weren’t all concerned in some way about ‘the gender imbalance in mathematics’. What is not so clear is just how we understand this imbalance, what we believe its causes are, and what we think we should do about it.
