ABSTRACT

Analysis of outcomes provides a novel way of thinking about managers and management. There are a number of understandings of management which account for the style and rationale of the management curriculum in education, training and employment generally. They refer to:

(i) a concern with the organization; (ii)varying degrees of belief that management is learnable or even teachable; (iii) the qualities of individual managers or prospective managers.
