ABSTRACT

During the last decade a rich pool of data has been developed about students’ and teachers’ perceptions of interpersonal teacher behavior. The data set formed as a result of QTI research in The Netherlands, Australia and the United States. In a number of studies the instrument was typically administered to secondary students in grades eight to twelve. The results, presented in this chapter, indicate broad agreement among students and teachers. Readers interested in the specific procedures used in the studies are referred to the research reports (Créton and Wubbels, 1984; Wubbels, Créton and Hooymayers, 1985; Brekelmans, 1989; Wubbels and Levy, 1991; Levy, Wubbels and Brekelmans, 1992; Fisher, Fraser and Wubbels, 1992).
