ABSTRACT

In 1988, in the reorganization of Hull schools (see Chapter 7 for further details) I moved to Griffin Primary School, Bilton Grange. From the start we seemed to be faced with the problems of either parental antipathy, or indifference and apathy. Parents were finding it hard to accept new staff, who in turn seemed burdened with all the stresses and strains of movement, change of direction and the proposed implementation of the National Curriculum. IMPACT appeared to hold an answer to crossing the ‘seeming great divide’ from parent to staff and also to provide another useful resource for over-worked staff.
