ABSTRACT
New sociology of education that began as a political articulation, ended in consumption of alien, popular academic discourses. Postmodernism was at once the flashiest, but also the most academicist of these status displaying academic languages. What was lost along the way was not only historically meaningful political commitment, but also the interest and capacity for social analysis.
