ABSTRACT

My message with regard to the title of this chapter could have been presented very briefly. For all that I really wish to suggest to you is that people do not learn much from experience on its own; rather do they learn from what they take from that experience. I would then further argue that they can be assisted in this ‘taking’ process if they are consciously prompted, by themselves or by a teacher or a peer who facilitates their development, to question themselves about how they do things, how well they do them and how they might do them more effectively next time.
