ABSTRACT

The best teams are all clear about the nature of the game. They know the difference between football and cricket. They know what they need to do to win and then they set about doing precisely that. Schools need to be every bit as clear about the nature of their game, which is learning. At different points in the history of schooling, some schools have become distracted from their core purpose and have become involved in areas that are more appropriately the province of social services, government, and so on.
